New Life / New Life Assembly was born in August 1996. It all began with a dream and a vision. Dreams are abstract concepts of yearnings, desires, goals that are thought to reach someday in the future. A vision is the dream that begins to materialize. The abstract becoming a reality. My dream was to serve the Lord no matter what capacity. I only knew that there was a burning desire to fulfill the Great Commission.
It all started with our first meeting at a rented YWCA lounge in Oakcliff. After a month there, we went to rent in a Lutheran church. After a few months, we bought our first "temple." It was a three-bedroom house that we remodeled to accommodate our small congregation. That house (Temple) is still located on the corner of Chalmers and Illinois. The congregation was small but faith was great! We have also helped open other kindergartens in other churches in the city and also throughout the state of Texas.
In 2001, the State Board of Education of the State of Texas granted us a license to operate Charter Schools and was born, Golden Rule Schools Inc.! We are our own School District with schools in Cockrell Hill, DeSoto, Grand Prairie and Dallas.
