Dear business owner:
While our state continues to build on our current capabilities to address and mitigate the spread of COVID-19, this pandemic has adversely impacted our global economy—devastating not only multi-national companies, but also hitting hardworking Texas business owners here at home.
As most are aware, all bars, dine-in restaurants, gyms and theaters in Dallas County were instructed to close their doors to the public. This is an overwhelming and difficult time for everyone, including business owners, employers, and employees, and I would like to take the time to hear directly from you on how your Texas Representative can better advocate both for you and for your employees.
For that purpose, I will be holding a conference call on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 12:00 pm to share with you the ideas that I plan to submit to Governor Abbott with the aim of helping businesses like yours at a time when you may need it most. Governor Abbott has a record of helping Texas job creators, and I believe he stands ready to continue his commitment to maintain our robust economy. This call will provide you with the opportunity to give feedback, share your insights and ideas on how the state can help.
In addition, we have invited special guest, Commissioner Aaron Demerson of the Texas Workforce Commission to assist in answering your questions as well as learning about your specific concerns.

In closing, while I say this often, it rings more truer today than ever before during this time of uncertainty: "None of us is as smart as all of us." That said, I need your contribution added to continue the greatness of our Lone Star State's Entrepreneurial Spirit!
Respectfully,
Carl O. Sherman, Sr.
