ABOUT HIP HOP SUMMIT
The City of DeSoto Parks & Leisure Services Department annually hosts the Hip Hop Summit for youth. First held in 2005, this conference asked such questions as: What is it that draws today's youth to hip hop in overwhelming numbers? What should you know about the game of hip hop? Are the youth in hip hop now truly trying to change the game?

Since 2010, there has been a component added known as BATTLE OF THE DJ's. This component features DJs that showcase their talent. Every year, Hip Hop Summit features local up and coming artists. Every year, this summit has drawn a crowd to learn about Hip Hop and listen to new artists.
